First week of school vacation

Here are Dimas and Rosie at the best bookstore in all of Portugal: Bookshop Bivar. They sell used books in English. It is hard for us to not buy the entire children's section. We bought some books for Adelaide (she has already read three out of six 😮 in one day and a half), for Davy (just two!) and some more Roald Dahl for read alouds. We just finished The Fantastic Mr. Fox and it was amazing. Very pro-family and pro-father! (the book, because they unfortunately changed some ideas in the movie)

This is me, Davy and Leticia (my sidekick!) at Davy's speech therapy. He started a couple months ago at his school, but they suggested going to the clinic during vacation. It is a little bit expensive, but he really likes it and is improving the three sounds that are difficult for him, so we are happy. This means that me, Davy AND Leticia are in therapy! 😅

Last week I was barely able to sleep two nights with the pain I sometimes get in my toes on my right foot. This week has been pain-free. It seems to have a week on, week off pattern.

Yesterday my physical therapist did electric shock therapy on my calves (which don't feel and the calf muscles don't work). I don't know if it was because of that or because of the special circulation massage I got last Tuesday, but all of a sudden the left calf started working! The right one is still paralyzed. This has happened with other muscles in my legs: they didn't move then all of a sudden surprise us! It is always such an exciting and happy moment when something starts working. Still no feeling though. 

Aqui estão o Dimas e a Rosinha na melhor livraria em Portugal: Bookshop Bivar. Vendem livros usados em Inglês. É difícil para nós não comprar a secção de crianças inteira. Comprámos alguns livros para a Adelaide (ela já leu três de seis num dia e meio!), para o David (só dois!) e mais alguns de Roald Dahl para ler em voz alta. Acabámos o Fantástico Sr. Raposa e é incrível. Muito pró-família e pró-pai! (digo o livro, infelizmente mudaram algumas ideias no filme)

Isto sou eu, o David e a Leticia (minha apéndice!) na terapia da fala do David. Ele começou há uns meses no seu colégio, mas sugeriram que ele continuasse na clínica durante as férias. É caro, mas ele gosta muito e está a melhorar os três sons difíceis para ele, por isso estamos felizes. Isto significa que eu, o David EEE a Leticia estamos na terapia!

Na semana passada dormi mal duas noites com a dor que sinto por vezes nos dedos do meu pé direito. Esta semana tem sido sem dor. Parece que tenho um padrão de semana com dor, semana sem dor. 

Ontem a minha fisioterapeuta fez terapia de choque elétrico nos meus gémeos, que não têm sensibilidade e os músculos não funcionam. Não sei se foi por causa disso, ou pela massagem para a circulação (drenagem linfática?) que fiz terça-feira, mas de repente o gémeo esquerdo mexeu-se! O direito ainda está paralisado. Isto também aconteceu com os outros músculos nas minhas pernas: não se mexiam e de repente um nos surpreendia! É sempre um momento muito feliz e entusiasmante quando algo começa a funcionar. Ainda não tenho sensibilidade.
