Hello friends, as some of you may or may not know, I had a rare birth complication last September called an epidural abcess. I was in a wheelchair until a couple of months ago and I am still doing physical therapy daily. I was giving updates in a whatsapp group, but I will now give updates here on my blog and on Instagram, in English and in Portuguese. You can sign up to receive posts by email on the sidebar.

Olá amigos, como alguns podem ou não saber, tive uma complicação rara Setembro passado chamado abcesso epidural. Estive numa cadeira de rodas até há dois meses e ainda faço fisioterapia todos os dias. Estava a dar notícias (e pedir ajudas) por um grupo whatsapp, mas agora passo a dar notícias por este blogue e pelo Instagram, em Inglês e a seguir português. PS Estou atrasada em postar notícias porque tive ocupada com a nossa festa de aniversário e depois tive problemas com o meu telemóvel!
This is a picture of my orthopedic armchair and my wheelchair, both lent to us by friends, in the garage. This picture is symbolic of the new phase we entered in the month of June. Leticia is nine months old and my operation also. I am walking better and straighter each week, I started cooking for the first time and we are overall more independent.
Here are some pictures of me and Daniel talking on the topic of how to overcome difficulties as a couple. We opened up our hearts and felt comfortable with the friendly audience.
Leticia started physical therapy also, because she tilts her head too much to one side. She is also at the two places I am. Here is a picture of her at the hospital, where she cries and yells the whole hour. I lost the other picture of her playing at Power Clinic, where the chiropracter massages her back while she is nursing and then she is calmer.
I started a cooking "course" at my house during for a couple Saturday afternoons, for me to learn and for friends who want to join me. The first session (see photos) was a success. Let me know if you want to join me next week.
Uma foto da poltrona ortopédica e da cadeira de rodas, ambas emprestadas por amigos, na garagem. Uma imagem simbólica da nova fase para que passámos no mês de Junho. A Leticia e a operação fizeram nove meses, eu cada vez ando melhor e mais direita, comecei a cozinhar pela primeira vez e estamos mais autónomos.
Umas fotos de mim e do Daniel a dar um testemunho de como ultrapassar dificuldades em casal. Abrimos o coração e sentimos também acolhidos pela audiência.
A Leticia começou a fazer fisioterapia, porque inclina muito a cabeça para o lado, em dois sitios como eu. Uma foto dela a chorar no Hospital Santa Maria (grita a hora inteira) e perdi a brincar no Power Clinic (onde lhe dou de mamar enquanto a osteopata massaja as costas e depois ela fica mais calma).
Comecei um "curso" de culinária na minha casa durante alguns sábados de tarde, para eu aprender e para amigas que quiserem vir. A última foi um sucesso! (ver fotos) Digam-me se quiserem vir para a semana.
